Fly fishing - Casting technique at a river or lake, fishing included

The guide will observe your casting technique and come up with inputs and tips for more effective fly casting. Casting techniques for roll casting can be practiced if wanted.

Will be combined with any fishing method, of your choice, within fly fishing.

River - dry fly fishing

In this session we are not only looking for rising fish, we also fish for the fish that wants to eat from the surface but are not rising. We learn more about the fishing strategies using dry flies and about reading the waters to find out where to fish. Dry fly fishing is mostly done traditionally, where the fly is casted slightly upstream to achieve a long drift and allow the fish to strike.

Euronymphing - fly fishing with nymphs

Probably the most effective method in today's fly fishing. Here, a basic lesson is offered on how to rig your setup and practice casts and drifts. Euronymphing is a popular method in competitive fly fishing for catching trout, grayling, and other salmonids in rivers. The technique is often characterized by the use of long, sensitive rods with thin lines, along with one or up to three nymphs fished close to the bottom where the fish primarily feed. Through tight control of the line's tension and movements, the angler can feel even the slightest bites and quickly set the hook. It is a method that requires patience and precision, a very rewarding method for those who get it right.

River - Streamer fishing

An effective technique for trout fishing in rivers. Here, knowledge is deepened about how to read the waters and present your flies to improve catches in running waters. Traditional streamer fishing sligthly downstream is complemented with other techniques, such as upstream streamer fishing for those who have never tried it. (This fishing is limited to the period of June to August, as trout fishing is prohibited from September due to spawning).
